A little Bit about 2cv 4x4’s....
There are two types of 2cv 4x4, A Sahara and a Louis Barbour Conversion.
The Sahara was built with two 602cc engines, one drove the front wheels and one drove the rear this was a very good original Citroen idea but weighed a lot so would get stuck more easily and it was difficult to synchronize the engines together.
Along came Mr. Barbour wanting to invent something that was a little different...
He created a 2cv4x4 which carried 2 gear-boxers and a connecting prop shaft! Works very well, Because of only one 602 cc engine, 2 gear boxes and the Independent suspension but only one problem lack of engine torc going up very steep hills!
